We are looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Fellow with a start date of February or March 2025. The position is for a minimum of 2 years (extendable for up to 4 years), supported by an ongoing grant from the DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance to study the evolutionary effects of mutation bias. Salary and benefits will follow usual norms as per the Fellow’s qualifications, with an option to avail on-campus housing.
The project involves analysis of genome and metagenome sequencing datasets and phylogenetic analyses, with substantial room to develop independent lines of questioning and learn new methods and tools. The Fellow will be co-advised by Aswin Seshasayee, and will work closely with a team of experimental biologists in our group. We are committed to providing an open, intellectually stimulating, and supportive work atmosphere, and opportunities to develop skills that match the Fellow’s chosen career path.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD with extensive experience in bioinformatics, and at least some experience or interest in evolutionary biology or microbiology. Candidates who expect to submit their thesis by December 2024 are also welcome.
To apply, please send an email (dagashe at ncbs dot res dot in) with your CV, a 1-page summary of your previous research, and a 1-page statement of your future research interests and how they align with the overall project and lab goals. Details of the lab group, ongoing research, and recent publications are available at www.adaptationlab.in. Application review will begin on 16 Dec 2024.
