Congratulations to Laasya for getting the (very competitive) fellowship! The award will support her work on the potential adaptive consequences of altered initiator tRNA levels in bacteria. We're excited about the project and can't wait to see what Laasya discovers!

A few months ago Arun turned in his Master's thesis to Bangalore University. At long last, he's received his Master's degree and has done really well. DST INSPIRE Faculty Award
Work on tRNA genes and synonymous codons in our lab will be supported by the Department of Science and Technology's INSPIRE Faculty award for the next five years.
Mihir Umarani joins the lab
Mihir recently finished his Integrated Master's degree from IISER Pune, where he worked with Deepak Barua to quantify variation in Impatiens plant species growing on rocky outcrops. He joins us as a Junior research fellow with a CSIR Fellowship, and is interested in insect-microbe interactions. Welcome, Mihir!
Aparna Agarwal joins the lab
